JUDGEMENT
1. When is it?
After the millennial reign of Christ and before the New Heavens and New Earth. See Chart.
Revelation 20:7, 11-15 -And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, :11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. :12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. :13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. :14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. :15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Matthew 13:39-43 - The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. :40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. :41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; :42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. :43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
With Psalms 37:34 -Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
And Matthew 25:34, 41,46 - Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: :41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: :46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Hebrews 9:27 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
John 5:28, 29 - Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, :29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Romans 2:5 - But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Genesis 18:25 - That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
With Jude 6 & 7 - And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. :7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
2. Where is it?
Here on Earth.
Proverbs 11:31 - Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
Isaiah 66:24 - And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
Malachi 4:3 - And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
Psalms 37:10, 22, 34 - For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. :22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. :34 Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
3. Who is the Judge?
Jesus, acting for His Father.
2 Timothy 4:1 - I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
John 5:27 - And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Acts 17:31 - Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Acts 10:42 - And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
Romans 2:16 - In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Romans 14:10-12 - But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. :11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. :12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
2 Corinthians 5:10 - For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
John 5:22 - For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
1 Chronicles 16:33 - Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the Lord, because he cometh to judge the earth.
With Psalms 96:10-13 -Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. :11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. :12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice :13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
Hebrews 10:30, 31- For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. :31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
1 Corinthians 5:13 - But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
4. Who are those judged?
Both the righteous and the wicked.
Matthew 25:34, 41, 46 - Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: :41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: :46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Isaiah 1-28, 31 -And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed. :31 And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.
Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. :14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
2 Peter 3:7 - But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Romans 2:2, 8, 9 - But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. :8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, :9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
And 14:10-12 - But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. :11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. :12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
With 1 Timothy 5:24 - Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
Hebrews 10:26, 27 - For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, :27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Psalms 9:7, 8 - But the Lord shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. :8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
5. By what are the people judged?
By the Word of Truth according to their deeds.
John 12:48 - He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Romans 2:6, 12, 16 - Who will render to every man according to his deeds: :12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; :16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Psalms 96:12, 13 - Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice :13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
