THE REWARD OF THE WICKED

1. When does it occur? See Chart.

After the Millennium and before the New Heavens and New Earth.

Psalm 37:34, 38 - Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. :38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

Revelation 20:5, 7, 10-15 - But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. :7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, :10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. :11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. :12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. :13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. :15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Matthew 25:32, 41, 46 - And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: :41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: :46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Daniel 7:9 & 10 - I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. :10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

John 12:48 - He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

2 Peter 3:7 - But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Isaiah 1:28 - And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

Acts 17:30 & 31 - And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: :31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Hebrews 9:27 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Romans 2:16 - In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Matthew 13:39-42 - The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. :40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. :41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; :42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

2. How long does it last?

Everlasting punishment.

Psalm 37:20 - But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

Psalms 92:7 - When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

2 Peter 2:17 - These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

Psalms 1:4-6 - The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. :5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. :6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

2 Thessalonians 1:9 - Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Daniel 12:2 - And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Galatians 5:21 - Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Jude 13 - Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

3.Where is the reward given?

Here on Earth.

Revelation 21:8 - And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

Proverbs 11: 31 - Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

Proverbs 2:22 - But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

2 Peter 3:10-13 - But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. :11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, :12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? :13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

4.Of what does it consist?

Destruction by fire.

Malachi 3:18 - Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Malachi 4:1-3 - For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. :2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. :3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.

Hebrews 10:26 & 27 - For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, :27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

John 3:16, 36 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. :36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Revelation 22:18 & 19 - For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: :19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Romans 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalms 39:9 & 10 - For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. :10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

Job 21:30 - That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.

Proverbs 2:22 - But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Jude 12, 13 - These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; :13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

2 Peter 2:6, 9, 12, 13, 17 - And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; :9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: :12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; :13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; :17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

Jude 7 - Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Revelation 20: 14 - And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Matthew 3:12 -Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Hebrews 3:12 - Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Hebrews 6:8 - But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
