The Davidic covenant is the contract God made with King David. One of the key components of this covenant, was the promise that God would make one of David's direct descendants to be King over all of Israel. We see in the scriptures that Jesus Christ was a descendant of David. We also see prophecies of Christ inheriting David's throne.
