The Scriptures point out that Jesus the Christ will return to this Earth. This is referred to by Bible Scholars as the Second Coming. Obviously the First Coming was his birth, growth, ministry, death and resurrection. Then there was His ascension, and (currently) His role as our mediator.

Jesus currently resides at the right hand of God. He is the ONLY person to go to God in heaven:

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

The Bible records many promises of Christ's 2nd coming. Jesus Himself promised in John 14:3

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

The angels promised the Apostles:

Acts 1:9-11:
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

The Bible also promises that Jesus will establish a new government on the Earth at His 2nd coming, and that this will remain unchanged for 1000 years:

Rev 20:6
6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

Some of the major components of the 1000 Year reign of Jesus Christ are:

  1. 1) The destruction of the Nations.

  2. 2) The government of the Kingdom.

  3. 3) The co-rulers with Jesus.

  4. 4) The "left (survivors) of all the Nations".

  5. 5) The territory of the Kingdom.
